Mumbai int’l airport gets nod for development fee


The government has allowed Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL) to levy a ‘development fee’ on domestic and international passengers departing from the city’s international airport.

The development fee of 100 rupees will be levied on domestic passengers while international passengers will have to pay 600 rupees, a government statement said on Friday.

Mumbai International Airport Ltd., joint venture of GVK group and Airports Authority of India, will levy the development fee, for a period of 48 months from April 1, the statement said.
