Travel becomes cheap globally..

New Delhi: If you want to beat the slowdown blues, then head for foreign shores. Airlines have dropped international ticket prices to unprecedented rock bottom levels to fill up the vacant seats.
For instance, Air India now has a return basic fare of Rs 6,900 for London. Combined with taxes and surcharge, the overall figure is about Rs 27,000. Similarly, British Airways has launched a limited period Rs 9,990 return fare that combined with taxes and surcharge will also be close to AI’s figure. Some Gulf carriers offer even lower fares beginning Rs 22,000. Travel industry puts this figure at being nearly 40% lower than the earlier average beginning level of Rs 40,000.
Similarly, the Delhi-New York economy class tickets now begin from Rs 40,000. which is nearly 40% lower than the earlier starting level of Rs 60,000. Even the nonstop flights of Air India and Continental cost upwards of Rs 44,000. A Delhi-Los Angeles return ticket will cost upwards of Rs 53,000 while a return trip to Dubai will cost just about Rs 17,000 on full service carriers.
In fact all airlines including Indian carriers like AI, Jet and Kingfisher and foreign ones like BA, Lufthansa, Etihad, Emirates and Singapore Airlines have cut fares on most sectors to and from India.

  1. The worst flying experience I have ever had was with Etihad Airways on 30/01/09. The staff were rude and unhelpful, the flight was diverted to Al Ain and kept on the ground for about 12 hours, as we didn’t have enough fuel to get to Abu Dhabi. We then missed our connecting flight to Kuala Lumpur and had to wait another 12 hours for the next connecting flight, in the early hours of the next day. Overall staff attitude, service and food quality was extremely poor, entertainment syustems were good when they worked, as many did not.
I will never fly Etihad again

  2. Fancy over 24 hours delay, flight diversion, poor food, rude staff, zero customer service, but a cheap fare?
I will never fly Etihad airways again search “etihad complaints” on google for a sample of passenger reviews…
